Formerly known as Quickstitch, based on Saddler Street in Durham, we relocated and rebranded as the Woven Workshop. The workshop is now located in Prince Bishops Place, Durham and is home to our dedicated seamstresses who have combined over 125+ years of experience in sewing and alterations. We also offer a range of other services including dry cleaning and service washes. Call in and speak to the team for more information, no appointments are necessary.

  • CLOTHING & FABRIC ALTERATIONS

    Whether it's taking up a hem, altering your suit sleeve length or replacing a zip. It's all available in house.

  • SERVICE WASHES

    Got too much laundry? Our service washes can take a load off your hands and have it back to you washed, dried and folded.

  • DRY CLEANING

    For those delicate garments that need a little extra care, our dry cleaning services have an express 2-3 day turnaround period.

EXTENDED IN HOUSE SERVICE

If you have bought your suit from Woven within the last 2 months and require any alterations to your purchase, the workshop team can accommodate you, free of charge.  Most alterations will be scheduled by a tailor who will conduct a fitting before you leave the store on the day of purchase, but if you find you require anything further, please get in touch. 

A copy of your receipt will be required to ensure no payment is taken.

Do I need an appointment?

No, no appointment is necessary. Please visit us at your convenience.

How long will it take to complete my alterations?

This will depend on what work you require and how busy the workshop is at the time of your visit. The alterations team will give you an estimated day when your item(s) will be ready for collection.

Do you offer dress or prom dress alterations?

Yes, we can offer alterations on most dresses. Please note, we are unable to alter garments that are heavily beaded due to the higher risk of damaging the garment.

If you are in need of a length alteration, please bring the shoes you will be wearing with the dress/trousers so they can be altered accurately.

I don't know what needs altering, can you help me?

Yes, our seamstresses are fully trained and can offer to advise on what can be done to meet your needs.

They will pin the garment ready for alterations while you are in the store.
